Some love stories start with a grand gesture. Nicole and Brady's started with a poke on the arm.
It was 2013, a good old night out at LJ's nightclub in Aylesbury, and Nicole made the first move in the most refreshingly ordinary way possible. From there, things moved quickly in the way they do when you just know: by their second date, Nicole had already discovered the long, long list of Brady's hobbies, and rather than being put off, found the connection between them only grew stronger. Ten years on from that night in Aylesbury, the two of them were married just a few miles down the road in the Buckinghamshire countryside, at a wedding venue in Dinton they'd fallen for the moment they saw it.

Nicole and Brady chose Bigstrup Farm for their wedding, a family-run farm hidden in the Buckinghamshire countryside just outside Aylesbury, with its beautifully restored 400-year-old Tythe Barn and courtyard garden at its heart. Surrounded by grazing cows, sheep and pigs, it's exactly the kind of venue I love working in: relaxed, rustic and entirely unpretentious, with none of the formality of a grander stately home. For a couple whose story started with a poke on the arm in an Aylesbury nightclub, it felt like exactly the right kind of setting, a celebration close to home, among the countryside they grew up around.
The ceremony
The sun was shining for their mid-August wedding, perfect for an outdoor ceremony surrounded by the farm's fields and courtyard garden. Their luxury celebrant-led ceremony was written entirely around their story: the ten years since that first night out, the friendship that grew from it, and the very long list of Brady's hobbies that Nicole had come to know (and love) so well. As with every ceremony I write, nothing about it followed a template. It was theirs, start to finish.
Nicole and Brady were kind enough to share the day on Instagram afterwards, describing me as their "amazing wedding celebrant", which is about the nicest thing you can say to someone who spent months getting to know your story before standing up in front of your family and friends to tell it.
