Some venues are beautiful.
And then there are those that make you stop for a moment when you arrive.
The Langley in Buckinghamshire is very much the latter.
On the most picture perfect day, surrounded by glorious Buckinghamshire countryside and the people they love most, Iona and Dan celebrated their wedding at this incredible five star country house hotel.
Their ceremony was warm, funny, personal and filled with stories.
Which, considering their own story began thanks to their friends deciding they should meet, felt exactly right.
A Luxury Wedding at The Langley, Buckinghamshire
If ever there was a venue made for a luxury English country wedding, The Langley would be high on the list.
Set within 150 acres of formal gardens and parkland, The Langley is a five star Luxury Collection hotel in Iver, Buckinghamshire.
But long before it became the hotel you see today, this was a place with a rather extraordinary history.
The estate was purchased by Charles Spencer, the third Duke of Marlborough, in 1738. The present Palladian mansion was commissioned in the 1750s, and the fourth Duke later brought in legendary landscape designer Lancelot “Capability” Brown to work on the surrounding parkland.
Today, those historic surroundings form the backdrop to one of Buckinghamshire's most impressive luxury hotels.
The Palladian mansion and adjoining Grade II listed Brew House have been meticulously restored, with just 41 rooms and suites across the estate. The former bedroom of the Duke of Marlborough has even become the hotel's magnificent Duke of Marlborough Suite.
There is a sense of history everywhere, but it doesn't feel like stepping into a museum.
It feels luxurious, private and incredibly special.
And on a beautiful day, with the sun shining across those famous grounds, it makes for a fairly spectacular place to get married.
A Luxury Wedding Venue With a Taste for Discretion
Part of the appeal of The Langley is its privacy.
Set within 150 acres of Buckinghamshire countryside, the five star hotel has the grandeur you would expect from one of the country's most luxurious wedding venues, while still feeling remarkably secluded.
And for couples planning a private or high profile wedding, that sense of discretion can be just as important as beautiful surroundings.
It is perhaps no surprise, then, that The Langley has attracted celebrity guests and high profile celebrations.
In May 2025, television personality Dani Dyer married West Ham United and England footballer Jarrod Bowen at The Langley in an intimate wedding surrounded by around 50 of their closest family and friends.
Their elegant celebration made full use of the hotel's magnificent setting and brought The Langley firmly into the spotlight as one of Buckinghamshire's most talked about luxury wedding venues.
But whether I am creating a ceremony for a couple in the public eye or a couple who simply want their wedding to remain entirely private, my approach at Love Celebrants is the same.
Personal, considered and discreet.
The stories couples share with me while I am writing their ceremony are often incredibly personal.
Being trusted with those stories is a privilege.
Knowing what belongs in the ceremony, what will make the room roar with laughter and, equally importantly, what should remain between us is part of the job.
For Iona and Dan, The Langley gave us the most spectacular setting in which to tell their story.
And on a picture perfect Buckinghamshire day, it was difficult to imagine anywhere more beautiful.

A Love Story That Started With a Set Up
Now, back to the reason we were all there.
Iona and Dan.
Their love story started thanks to that wonderful thing friends sometimes do when they are absolutely convinced they know better than you.
They set them up.
And, as it turns out, they were right.
When I create a wedding ceremony, this is the part I love getting into.
Not simply where you met or when you got engaged, but the stories behind the story.
What did your friends see?
What were those first impressions?
When did something that started as a set up become this is my person?
It is these details that transform a wedding ceremony from something formal into something that could only ever belong to the two people standing in front of me.
A Little Irish Connection
There was another connection I particularly loved about Iona and Dan's wedding.
Both Iona and Dan have Irish heritage, and Ireland holds a very special place in their lives.
As someone who is originally from Northern Ireland, this immediately gave us plenty to talk about. The couple have visited Kerry in Ireland and Belfast many times, so there was something rather lovely about having that shared connection as we got to know one another.
And their Irish heritage wasn't simply something we talked about. They wove it beautifully throughout their wedding celebrations.
Music played a particularly important part.
The celebrations began the evening before at The Langley, where an Irish singer helped set the tone for the weekend. Then, on the wedding day itself, the sound of a live harpist accompanied Iona as she walked down the aisle.
And, of course, they had a Northern Irish celebrant waiting for them at the other end.
It felt like a subtle thread of home running through an incredibly elegant Buckinghamshire wedding.
I particularly loved that none of it felt themed or overdone. It was personal to Iona and Dan and their families, and sat beautifully alongside the luxury and grandeur of The Langley.
For me, those are the details that make a wedding memorable.
A brilliant celebrant led ceremony is built in much the same way.
It comes from getting to know a couple properly, understanding where they have come from and discovering the stories, people, places and traditions that have shaped them.
Because luxury doesn't have to mean formality.
The most luxurious weddings are often the ones where every beautiful detail also means something.

“After About Two Minutes on the Phone I Knew I'd Found THE ONE”
Iona's journey to finding her celebrant actually began with somebody else.
She had originally contacted a celebrant who was a good friend of her sister, but unfortunately she wasn't available for their wedding date.
Understandably, there was a little panic.
As Iona later said, the ceremony could be one of the best parts of the wedding with the right person and she really didn't want to get it wrong.
Her sister's friend recommended five celebrants.
Then came what Iona describes as a little “Insta stalk”.
And eventually she found Love Celebrants - Kathryn B Wilson.
We arranged a call.
I'll let Iona explain what happened next:
“After about 2 minutes on the phone I knew I'd found ‘THE ONE’.”
No pressure then.
Creating Iona & Dan's Ceremony
From there, we started getting to know each other properly.
Iona and Dan met me for an informal chat, and I asked whether they would mind being mic'd up while we talked.
There is a reason I love doing this.
When couples are simply talking to one another, rather than sitting down trying to “write their wedding ceremony”, you hear the good stuff.
The little comments.
The way they tell a story differently.
I then take all of those conversations and turn them into a ceremony that feels polished and beautifully considered, but still completely authentic to the couple.
We also worked together on Iona and Dan's vows, making sure that when the day arrived, the words felt like them.
Not something that could belong to another couple.
Theirs.
Personal, Funny and Authentic
Iona later left me the most wonderful review:
“Kathryn Wilson is the most incredible celebrant, we are so glad we had her conducting our wedding and so grateful for all the support she gave us on the lead up to the day.”
She described how easy and enjoyable the process had felt, from our first call and informal meeting through to telling their story and helping them create their vows.

For me, guests commenting on a ceremony afterwards is one of the greatest compliments.
Because your wedding ceremony shouldn't feel like something everyone politely sits through before the champagne appears.
It should be part of the celebration.
Guests should laugh. They should learn something about you. They should recognise you in the stories.
And every now and again, someone should need a tissue.
Preferably all within the same ceremony.

And Iona and Dan's wedding had everything I love about what I do.
A couple who trusted me with their story. A room filled with people completely invested in them. Plenty of laughter. Meaningful vows. A little Irish connection.
And two people who, thanks to some rather perceptive friends, found one another in the first place.
All set against one of Buckinghamshire's most spectacular wedding venues on an absolutely picture perfect day.
Iona and Dan, it was a joy.
And if there is ever a vow renewal?
