The Best Luxury Wedding Venues in Buckinghamshire: A Celebrant's Guide
Being a wedding celebrant based in Buckinghamshire means I am rather spoilt when it comes to beautiful wedding venues.
We have grand country estates, five-star hotels, historic houses, beautiful gardens and some wonderful hidden gems, all within easy reach of London.
I’ve had the privilege of conducting ceremonies at some of the most prestigious wedding venues in and around Buckinghamshire, as well as a few lesser-known venues that I think deserve far more attention.
So rather than another list of wedding venues pulled together from the internet, these are places I actually know.
These are five luxury wedding venues in and around Buckinghamshire that I’ve worked at and loved.
1. Hedsor House
Best for: Exclusive-use luxury and complete privacy
If you asked me to picture a quintessential luxury Buckinghamshire wedding, Hedsor House would be very difficult to beat.
Set within its own private estate overlooking the River Thames, Hedsor has that wonderful feeling of leaving the outside world behind as soon as you arrive.
And for a wedding, that matters.
Exclusive use gives couples a level of privacy that is particularly appealing for luxury weddings, high-profile celebrations and couples who simply want the house to feel entirely theirs for the day.
I’ve had the pleasure of conducting a ceremony at Hedsor House myself, and it is one of those venues where the ceremony deserves to match the setting.
Beautiful surroundings are wonderful.
But the words being spoken within them should be just as memorable.

2. The Langley, Buckinghamshire
Best for: Five-star country-house luxury
Some venues are beautiful.
The Langley is one of those places that makes you stop for a moment when you arrive.
Set within 150 acres of formal gardens and parkland, this five-star country-house hotel combines extraordinary history with the polished service you’d expect from a truly luxury wedding venue.
I was the celebrant here for Iona and Dan on the most picture-perfect Buckinghamshire day.
Their ceremony had everything I love: warmth, laughter, meaningful vows, wonderful stories and even a little Irish connection.
It’s also a venue that works particularly well for couples who value luxury and discretion.
There is grandeur, certainly, but there is also a wonderful sense of privacy.

3. Cliveden House
Best for: Iconic British glamour
Cliveden House needs very little introduction.
Just over the Buckinghamshire border in Berkshire, it is one of the most iconic luxury country-house hotels in the area and a spectacular choice for couples looking for a wedding or vow renewal within easy reach of London.
Few venues combine history, grandeur and a sense of occasion quite like it.
I’ve been fortunate enough to conduct an intimate vow renewal at Cliveden for Jei and Gennifer, who travelled from Seattle, Washington, to celebrate more than 20 years of marriage.
And I think their ceremony demonstrated something important about luxury weddings.
Luxury doesn’t have to mean hundreds of guests.
Sometimes it means travelling across the Atlantic with the people closest to you and choosing an extraordinary place to mark an extraordinary moment.
We planned their ceremony together over Zoom before they arrived in England, creating new vows that reflected not simply who they had been when they first married, but everything they’d built together in the two decades since.
Against the backdrop of Cliveden, it was incredibly special.

Two lesser-known luxury Buckinghamshire wedding venues I’ve worked at and loved
Hedsor House, The Langley and Cliveden are names many couples planning a luxury wedding will already know.
But Buckinghamshire also has some wonderful venues that don’t always appear at the top of the luxury wedding lists.
I’ve worked at both of these, and I’d happily return to either.
4. Stoke Place
Best for: Relaxed country-house elegance
Stoke Place is a wonderful option for couples who love the idea of a country-house wedding but don’t necessarily want their day to feel overly formal.
The historic mansion sits within acres of beautiful parkland, giving you the feeling of escaping into the Buckinghamshire countryside while still being wonderfully accessible.
I conducted Kerry and Matt’s humanist wedding ceremony here.
They chose to have their ceremony indoors before taking everyone outside for ice creams on the lawn afterwards.
And that’s probably a rather good description of what I like about Stoke Place.
It can give you the grandeur of a Buckinghamshire country-house wedding without making you feel as though you need to behave formally all day.
There is space to make the celebration elegant, but still unmistakably yours.

5. Bigstrup Farm, Dinton
Best for: A luxury countryside wedding that feels completely personal
Bigstrup Farm is very different from the grand houses above, and that’s precisely why I’ve included it.
Hidden in the Buckinghamshire countryside near Aylesbury, it offers couples something increasingly valuable: space, privacy and the freedom to make a wedding feel completely their own.
I was the celebrant here for Nicole and Brady, whose story began rather brilliantly with a poke on the arm during a night out in Aylesbury.
Ten years later, they married just a few miles away in the Buckinghamshire countryside.
Bigstrup is a lovely example of something I think is becoming increasingly important in luxury weddings.
Luxury doesn’t always mean grand.
It can mean privacy.
Space.
Beautiful surroundings.
Exceptional suppliers.
And the freedom to create something completely around you rather than following a traditional wedding formula.
For couples looking for a more relaxed, private Buckinghamshire wedding venue, it’s absolutely one to discover.

Choosing a luxury wedding venue in Buckinghamshire
The wonderful thing about getting married in Buckinghamshire is the variety.
You can have the grandeur and exclusivity of Hedsor House.
The five-star polish of The Langley.
The history and glamour of Cliveden just over the border.
The relaxed country-house atmosphere of Stoke Place.
Or disappear into the Buckinghamshire countryside at somewhere like Bigstrup Farm.
There isn’t one venue that’s right for every couple.
And I think that’s rather the point.
Your venue should feel like you.
But once you’ve found the beautiful house, the incredible gardens, the perfect marquee or the countryside setting you’ve fallen in love with, don’t forget about the reason everyone is actually gathering there.
The ceremony.
I’ve always believed that the ceremony shouldn’t simply be the formal part everyone sits through before the champagne starts flowing.
At the best weddings I’ve worked on, it’s one of the moments people talk about afterwards.
The setting creates the atmosphere.
Your story is what makes people remember it.
