Tucked away at the end of a long, meandering private lane in the Surrey countryside, High Billinghurst Farm is one of those rare venues that feels like an exclusive secret the moment you arrive. On 30th June 2022, I had the pleasure of being luxury wedding celebrant for Charlotte and Rene's celebration there, and it remains one of the most elegant, vibrant ceremonies I've had the privilege to be part of.
A Venue Full of Character
Set within 65 acres of rolling countryside and wildflower meadows, High Billinghurst Farm blends rustic charm with genuine glamour. The main barn, with its huge inglenook fireplace, sparkling chandeliers and warm timber interior, sits alongside the adjoining Elizabethan barn, giving couples a natural flow between ceremony and celebration. It's exactly the kind of setting that invites a couple to bring real personality and style to their day rather than follow a template, which suited Charlotte and Rene perfectly.
A Ceremony Full of Colour

Charlotte and Rene's ceremony was a masterclass in styling. Charlotte's bridesmaids wore striking orange and hot pink, chosen to match the couple's vivid floral designs, and the effect against the timber beams and soft countryside light of the Elizabethan barn was simply gorgeous. It's a detail I still think about, proof that a beautifully considered colour palette can transform a ceremony space into something truly memorable.
Creating Something Unique
From our very first conversation, it was clear Charlotte and Rene wanted a ceremony that felt entirely their own rather than a conventional one. Together we worked through ideas until we landed on something that reflected their personalities, their story as a couple, and the elegant, colourful vision they had for their day. Bringing the right energy to match a couple's own is one of my favourite parts of this work, and Charlotte and Rene's celebration had that in abundance.
