Mark & Megan's Story

Set within the Hambleden Valley's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Old Luxters Barn is one of my favourite local venues to work at, an 18th century converted barn on the grounds of Chiltern Valley Winery, surrounded by vineyards and orchards near Henley-on-Thames. Being wedding celebrant for Mark and Megan's celebration here was a genuine joy from our very first conversation to the final moment of their ceremony.

Getting to Know Mark & Megan

From that first call, it was clear Mark and Megan and I were the right fit for each other. My approach has always been to ask the right questions and really listen, so that a ceremony ends up sounding entirely like the couple standing in front of me rather than a generic script. With Mark and Megan, that meant drawing out their stories, their feelings, and the small details that mattered most to them, then shaping all of it into something that felt authentically theirs.

A Ceremony Built Together

What made this wedding special was how collaborative the process was. Mark and Megan were never afraid to ask for changes along the way, and I loved being able to refine and adjust their ceremony until it felt completely right, right up until it truly reflected who they are as a couple. That care paid off on the day itself, with a ceremony that struck the perfect balance between heartfelt and genuinely funny.

The Reaction Said It All

Since their wedding, Mark and Megan have told me about the sheer number of guests who came up to them afterwards with comments like "that was so you, it was perfect" and "that was the best ceremony I've ever been to." One guest even called it one of the most spectacular weddings they had ever attended. Hearing that kind of reaction from a couple's own family and friends is exactly why I love this work.
